Toronto has grown exponentially since 1921, from a population of just over 500,000 to nearly 3 million today. Through a century of immense change, Torontonians have consistently relied on the TTC as the backbone of the City’s multi-modal transportation network, and the TTC has been a catalyst for growth and development in Toronto.
A Century of Moving Toronto celebrates the importance of the TTC to the city and its citizens, with a focus on the people that worked for the TTC and the people that the TTC has moved. The book provides a decade-by-decade account of the growth the TTC and the City of Toronto. Each decade includes a written history supported by archival photographs, maps and other memorabilia that detail each decade of service.
