State of Heritage
Heritage Toronto produces the State of Heritage Report to inform the public of issues and trends in the heritage sector, and to advise decision-makers on opportunities for improvement.
While it is clear that heritage makes an important contribution to fostering social cohesion, recent events have also highlighted the problematic legacy of heritage and the role it has played in systemic inequities. For the new State of Heritage Report, we seek a meaningful path forward.
Since last summer, we have asked 494 community leaders and Torontonians from across the city to share their thoughts. Thank you to all who participated in our recent events and survey.
