Explore the legacy of Toronto’s mayors beyond the sex and crack cocaine scandals. In this two-part series of walks, we’ll learn about the city’s history through the lives of our chief magistrates, including the first mayor, William Lyon Mackenzie; W.H. Howland, promoter of “Toronto the Good”; Tommy Church, father of the TTC; and Nathan Phillips, “mayor of all the people”.
This Heritage Toronto tour runs rain or shine and lasts approximately 90 minutes. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and consider bringing sunscreen and water to make your tour as enjoyable as possible.
This tour uses individual audio headsets. All registered participants will be provided with an individual headset that will allow you to hear the live tour guide throughout the tour.
Please note this walk is offered in two parts.
Part I is offered on Sunday, July 30 at 3pm.
Part II is offered on Saturday, August 5 at 3pm.
This tour is provided for $8.00/person. The total cost is $9.85 (includes a $1.85 transaction fee). Please note that space is limited on our tours. You may not be able to join a tour group if you have not registered ahead of time through our website (see below).

Look for our volunteers in white t-shirts and our Heritage Toronto white flag.
For over 25 years we have been touring through the city with groups, learning some fun facts, little-known stories, and about the amazing people that have contributed to Toronto's heritage.
Many of our tours are developed and led by those who are part of our Emerging Historians program.
