In-Person Tour Information

Explore the architecture of the neighbourhood that surrounds Toronto’s iconic road, Yonge Street, including a large university campus, beautiful churches, and numerous parks. Get an in-depth look at the side streets, laneways, and the spaces between to discover a side of the area you haven’t seen before.

As part of our partnership with StrollTO and our continued support of ShowLoveTO, we are happy to announce an extension of the 2021 tour season through November and December, with the presentation of eight unique tours.

We ask for your help and patience in making the experience as safe as possible for everyone. All in-person events will follow Toronto Public Health guidelines and enhanced Heritage Toronto safety measures including:

Registration Required

You will not be able to join a Tour group if you have not registered ahead of time through our website.

Our partner StrollTO invites you to register for this in-person presentation of Architecture of a Neighbourhood: Downtown Yonge free of charge.

For those of you moved by the generosity of our partners, a donation to support Heritage Toronto’s Tour program can still be made at the time of registration.

Individual sound systems

We have purchased individual sound systems to ensure physical distancing and improve the quality of the experience. Your system will be synched to a transmitter worn by the tour leader. It will sound like the tour leader is standing right next to you, even if you are 20 feet apart!

Contactless check-in

This will include contact tracing and self-screening for all participants.

Contactless donations

We will also be introducing contactless payment methods on Tours for people who wish to make a donation to our charity.

Accessibility

Certain portions of this tour include walking on uneven terrain and stairs. Please contact Heritage Toronto at [email protected] for more information.

For everyone’s safety and comfort, we respectfully ask all participants to wear a mask during in-person tours. Masks will be available upon request.
