Explore the varied landscape of York South Weston beginning at Portage Gardens Park, a name that honours the area’s proximity to the Humber River. We’ll walk to the Humber itself and back through the Mount Dennis neighbourhood on a route designed to appreciate the topography and vibrancy of the area, ending at the landmark public art installation, Nyctophilia. This tour is curated and led by Shawn Micallef.
As part of our partnership with StrollTO and our continued support of ShowLoveTO, we are happy to announce an extension of the 2021 tour season through November and December, with the presentation of eight unique tours.

For those of you moved by the generosity of our partners, a donation to support Heritage Toronto’s Tour program can still be made at the time of registration.
We have purchased individual sound systems to ensure physical distancing and improve the quality of the experience. Your system will be synched to a transmitter worn by the tour leader. It will sound like the tour leader is standing right next to you, even if you are 20 feet apart!
This will include contact tracing and self-screening for all participants.
We will also be introducing contactless payment methods on Tours for people who wish to make a donation to our charity.
In this tour there are stairs, grade changes, and some gravel pathways. For the majority of the tour there are paved sidewalks and paths.
For everyone’s safety and comfort, we respectfully ask all participants to wear a mask during in-person tours. Masks will be available upon request.
For over 25 years we have been touring through the city with groups, learning some fun facts, little-known stories, and about the amazing people that have contributed to Toronto's heritage.
Many of our tours are developed and led by those who are part of our Emerging Historians program.
